Maggie's Outreach Community
Economic Development Center

The Neighborhood Outreach Program strives to provide a quick response and collaborative problem solving to Hoke County residents concerned with neighborhood safety, appearance, and cohesiveness. MOCEDC strives to build our community and maintain quality neighborhoods through a range of programs, education, resources, one-on-one assistance, volunteerism, and outreach.

MOCEDC supports other organizations that offer neighborhood efforts that build healthy, lasting connections among neighbors because we believe that great neighborhoods start with knowing our neighbors. As such, MOCEDC is linking with the West Hoke Field of Dreams and creating a safe and welcoming community in the West Hoke Area.

A project sponsored by Mr. Willie McSkill, “West Hoke Field of Dreams” has over the past 10 years worked independently to offer neighborhood outreach services, on 7 acres which includes baseball, basketball, family outreach and other special events. Hoke County has a population of at least 50 thousand people including military families, is limited to two Recreation Parks and one new development in West Hoke Community “Kangaroo Dave Inflatable Park”.  MOCEDC goal is to build a Neighborhood Action Teams to create solutions to concerns identified by the neighborhood.   Our objective is to provide meaningful and positive change in neighborhoods and for residents to become well organized and engaged in their community.
